By Do your own thinking.
Just buy some washcloths and use warm water.
I doubt anybody uses a “recipe” with a solution for a wipe liquid for more than about a week. . .
The idea’s pretty silly.
Whether they are more trouble than they are worth probably depends on your laundry situation. I have a washing machine sitting on the second floor of my house — so — in they go after a wipe to get washed with the next load that goes in; no worries — but if I was going to be trotting them off to a laundromat or even down to the basement all the time, I don’t know how much I’d like it.
They do work so much better than the disposable ones that some inconvenience is worth it, though. Plus it’s weird to think that I would’ve spent hundreds of dollars on wipes by this point if I didn’t use washcloths. . .

We made our own for a while. . .
I just cut a roll of (nice, thick) paper towels in half, pulled the cardboard core out and popped them into a container.
Poured 1/4 c. Baby oil and 1/4 c. Baby wash and 2 c. Water (give or take, I never measure exactly).

You can buy lots of cheap washclothes from Walmart (I got a 30 pack for 6 bucks) and use them moistened with water.

I find it easier to use cloth wipes- just throw it in with the dirty diaper when you’re done! No need to separate and throw out the disposable wipe. Plus, it’s super cheap if you make your own! I just cut up flannel receiving blankets in 8×8 squares. I find it’s easier to use the thinner fabric than a washcloth. I make a baby wipe solution with about 2 cups water, a spoonful of coconut oil, a few drops tea tree oil, and a small squirt of baby shampoo. Works great!
